Thixotropic epoxy for heavy laminates
KINETIX R246TX improves resin hold on vertical surfaces and suits hulls, decks, multilayer structures and laminates with high resin demand.
Key considerations
- Compatible hardeners: H126, H128, H160, H161 and H162
- Published mix ratio: 100 parts resin to 25 parts hardener by weight
- Thixotropy helps control drainage, but processing must follow the current TDS
How to use
- Weigh accurately at 100 parts resin to 25 parts hardener by weight; mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the cup.
- Thixotropy holds resin on vertical faces and in thick laminates, limiting drainage when laminating hulls, decks and bulkheads.
- Because the resin is thicker, roll out thoroughly to wet out the fiber and remove air.
R246 or R246TX
Both use the same hardeners (H126, H128, H160, H161, H162) and 100:25 mix ratio. Choose R246TX for vertical or overhead surfaces and multi-ply laminates; choose R246 for horizontal work or machine impregnation where easy flow is needed.
Storage and safety
Store dry and cool with containers closed. Wear nitrile gloves and eye protection and read the SDS before use.
